I love Sculpture Key West!  It is the 17th annual exhibition this year. It includes local, national and intrnational contemporary sculptors that use every material imaginable that are displayed in our unique setting of land, air, sea, parks and beaches. They are fun whether they blend in or are in stark contrast to thier surroundings and  they are always a great addition to the beauty of the island.  This post will focus on Ft. Zach and I'll try to get to West Martello and Higgs in the next week or so..and altho' this isn't all of the sculptures from Ft. Zach it is the majority!  It's such a great way to enjoy the outdoors, the weather is beautiful this time of year!

I loved seeing these when we were there! The cast wax manhole covers confused me, though: that must be some heavy-duty, heat-resistant wax! So cool.

Hi Melisa,
Yea, they confused me too, kind of reminded me of headstone rubbings or something that you would hang on the wall? I wasn't even sure they were part of the exhibit because the first one I stepped on said Key West...LOL

Hi Toni, I really enjoyed your website which I discovered recently! Mae was my sister-in-law and she arranged a family vacation to Key West in approx. 1956. I have two pictures of our group on Capt. Tony's boat and will forward them to you ! Send me an email address !
