Q. What was it like growing up in Key West?
A. I think that like every one else, I have nothing to compare it to as it was home! I loved that I could go fishing every day, either out on Daddy's boat, or off the docks, my friends and I spent lots of time swimming, if it was rainy on one side of the island, we could just go to the other. The best places to swim weren't owned by resorts then, so that made a big difference.
Q. How was your life experience as the daughter of Captain Tony?
A. It was wonderful! Daddy made everything fun, we always had lots of animals, from monkeys to goats, and exciting new people in my life every day. I was really spoiled, but of course I didn't realize how much back then. Daddy always gave us kids "jobs" to do, but he paid really really well!
Q. What is your inspiration for your paintings?
A. Key West. The colors are so vibrant and there is always something new to discover on every street. Even days when it's not sunny it's inspiring because it's so rare.
Q. How long have you been working in hospitality?
A. Well, I know I was passing out brochures for our charter boat at a very young age, and that I was held by my first "tourist" at about 2 weeks. then I just naturally worked with visitors my whole life. I think that's part of the reason I've never moved, I didn't have to .... the world comes to me.
Q. What is the difference between a Key West Vacation Specialist and a Concierge?
A. I have been guiding people to what I feel is the best fit for them in Key West, officially, for over 30 years now. I feel it's important to know more about the people that are visiting and want to do things, because everyone is different. Besides, I truly love people and have a genuine interest in them, and a curiousity as to what a person or family is like so that I can recommend what's best for them
Q. What kind of couples do you marry?
A. So far, and hopefully in the future couples that are focused on each other rather than the 'pomp and circumstance" of the ceremony. More about love and less about impressing anyone except each other
Q. How can someone purchase a painting?
A. Just go to the Art section of my site and choose what you would like to purchase and simply use PayPal. I will be updating as I add more to my inventory. I hope to add notecards too, and other options in the future. I'm so excited about sharing Key West inspired Art - I'm just full of ideas! And of course more prints!
